Main duties include:

  • Effective Communication with your team and management
  • Assist with planning, preparing and delivering quality play opportunities within a safe caring environment.
  • Assisting children at meal times.
  • Encourage children to be confident and independent.
  • Encourage healthy eating.
  • Keep the Dining area clean after meals and before.
  • Provide refreshments and ensuring that hygiene, health and safety standards are met.
  • Interacting with children at play time and activities.
  • Consulting with children and involving them in planning activities.
  • Encourage and setup reading, and homework area.
  • Supporting children’s learning and development.
  • Following the EYFS, according to the statutory framework.
  • Observing children and helping them when necessary.
  • Assisting with outdoor activities.
  • Encourage good behaviour.
  • Communicate effectively with children.
  • Supporting management when required.
  • Working within the framework of the nursery policies and procedures.
  • Keeping the work environment clean, safe and secure.
  • Undertaking appropriate and relevant training.
  • Helping with administration, where necessary.
  • Facilitating good communication with all members of the organisation, parents, carers and team members.
  • Planning weekly activities and setting up activities
  • Moving furniture and play equipment.
  • Keeping children safe always.
  • Help all children to follow the Nursery rules.
  • Risk Assessment to be completed daily. Very Important.
  • Fortnightly Fire Drill. Very Important.
  • Keep the cupboards tidy.
  • Tidying away toys by 5.30pm encouraging the children to help.
  • Always Keep all work area tidy.
