Level 3 Nursery Practitioner - Brockley
To work as a member of the nursery team to ensure that all children attending the setting receive high quality care, are kept safe and receive rich and stimulating play experiences that meet their individual needs
Key Responsibilities:
Childcare and Education
Provide high standards of quality within the nursery including the environment, resources and experiences offered to children.
Observe, support and extend children's learning.
Plan appropriately for children using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum for guidance.
Maintain accurate and effective childrens records.
Work in partnership with parents/carers and other family members.
Demonstrate good practice with regard to special needs and inclusion.
Work with the team to continuously improve quality of childcare and education.
Ensure that children are kept safe and that staff understand, and when necessary, follow Child Protection Procedures.
Ensure that the nutritional needs of the children are met and that Food Safety Regulations are complied with.
Work with SENCO, EYFS advisors, health professionals and professional agencies as appropriate.
Comply with the statutory framework for the EYFS or relevant statutory regulations, and relevant legislation including the Children Act 1989 and 2004.
Develop and maintain highly professional working relationships with advisory teachers, schools and other agencies that may visit the setting.
Learn about current developments in childcare and education policy and practice.
Be a key person, carrying out all related responsibilities in building relationships with a small group of children and their families.
Be responsible for planning child centered experiences for a group of key children.
Be actively involved in implementing the curriculum plans within the room.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Qualified applicants must hold a full and relevant level 3 childcare qualification (including various NVQ certificates, NNEB, QTS, EYTS, EYPS)
You must have an Enhanced DBS Check on the update service or be willing to get a new one with Bretsa (subscribing to the DBS update service is recommended)
You must provide references that cover the last 2 years (minimum)
It is essential that you have knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), safeguarding and ratios
Nursery practitioners will be planning and initiating suitable activities with the children in their care to support their learning and development
You must be willing to work either 7:00 - 4-15 or 9:15 - 6:00. 40 hours per week.

Suitable applicants for this role will be required to provide us with an Enhanced DBS registered on the government update service or be willing to undergo a new DBS check. All applicants will be interviewed face to face and be reference checked over the last two to five years.
This is a full time position, Monday to Friday.
